NACTAL Board of Trustees Chair, Chief (Mrs) Titi Atiku Abubakar, has reiterated the essence of Collaboration in the Fight Against Human Trafficking.

She made this assertion on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the ATIPSOM Nigeria office, Abuja, Nigeria, during a courtesy call to Mr. Federico Millan Maricalva, the Team Lead of the Action Against Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants in Nigeria (A-TIPSOM Project).

Her words: “if the Law Enforcement Agencies don’t collaborate with the CSOs, there will be no headway”.

She recounted how through her organization, Women Trafficking and Child Trafficking Eradication Foundation (WOTCLEF), she sponsored the bill that led to the establishment of the National Agency Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and mobilized more stakeholders to join the fight against human trafficking.

Furthermore, she presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Federico Millan, commending him and his team for their contributions towards combating human trafficking in Nigeria.

Responding, the ATIPSOM Nigeria Team Lead expressed his pleasure to meet with the Her Excellency Mrs. Titi Atiku Abubakar.

“Thank you for coming, thank you for the role you played and still playing through WOTCLEF and NACTAL to combat Human Trafficking in Nigeria” he explained.

Federico went further to reveal plans for more activities under the A-TIPSOM Project which he said will have direct and sustainable impact to sheltering and the lives of Trafficked Victims and Smuggled Migrants.

In his remarks, Abdulganiyu Abubakar, NACTAL National President, commended the team leader and the entire A-TIPSOM project team for their unwavering support to NACTAL.
