The International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) has been bestowed with a prestigious award of recognition by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) in Nigeria. The accolade was presented in honor of the remarkable success achieved through the implementation of the EU-funded project, A-TIPSOM Nigeria(The Action Against Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants in Nigeria)
At a special ceremony held by NAPTIP in Abuja to celebrate her 20th Anniversary, Mr. Federico Millan, the Team Leader of A-TIPSOM, proudly received the award on behalf of FIIAPP. Other recipients of the award of recognition include: Spanish Embassy in Nigeria, UNODC, Expertise France, and different development partners.
The A-TIPSOM project, supported by the European Union, has been instrumental in combating the grave issues of human trafficking and migrant smuggling within the country’s borders. “We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from NAPTIP, which is a testament to the tireless commitment of the A-TIPSOM team and our invaluable partners,” expressed Mr. Federico Millan. “Through collaborative efforts, we have made significant strides in eradicating these heinous crimes, protecting the rights of vulnerable individuals, and bringing perpetrators to justice.”
The A-TIPSOM project’s success can be attributed to its multi-faceted approach. By empowering civil society organizations, enhancing law enforcement capabilities, and promoting awareness, the project has bolstered Nigeria’s fight against human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
