FIIAPP and Expertise France Collaborate to Enhance NAPTIP Officers’ Capacity

In a joint effort to combat human trafficking in Nigeria, the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) has partnered with Expertise France (EF) to conduct a specialized training workshop for officers of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). The training, titled “Capacity Enhancement of NAPTIP Administration Officers on Internal Operational Documents and Report Writing to Engender Effective Response to TIP,” aims to equip NAPTIP officers with essential skills for generating internal operational documents and writing reports to enhance their response to cases of human trafficking.

The collaboration between FIIAPP and EF underscores the importance of synergy and synchronization among partners to optimize the use of resources. The training program aligns with the strategic approach of the NAPTIP Director General, who recognizes the significance of providing all staff members with the necessary training to fulfill the agency’s mandate in combating human trafficking in Nigeria.

The training workshop, which commenced on July 3rd, 2023, is being held at the Golden Dabis Hotel in Keffi, Nasarawa State. It is attended by officers from the NAPTIP Headquarters and key Zonal Commands. The Director of the Admin and Human Resource Department, Mrs. Benedicta Ojugbana, represented the Director General of NAPTIP at the event. The Expertise France Project Manager, Mr. Benjamin Eneanya, and the ATIPSOM Team Leader’s representative, Mr. Bello Omotosho, were also present.

During the opening session, participants were reminded of their privilege to be part of the training, considering the abundance of staff within the Agency who could have been nominated. They were informed that the Director General expects a significant improvement in their productivity, as key performance indicators (KPIs) have been put in place to measure and evaluate their progress going forward.

The training modules are being facilitated by a consortium of trainers from CLOVEEBIZ NIGERIA LIMITED, a reputable company with extensive experience in delivering training programs. CLOVEEBIZ NIGERIA LIMITED was contracted by Expertise France to provide expertise in the areas of internal operational documents and report writing. The comprehensive training sessions will continue until July 6th, 2023.

By enhancing the capacity of NAPTIP officers, this training initiative aims to empower them with the skills and knowledge required to respond effectively to cases of human trafficking. With an emphasis on internal operational documents and report writing, these officers will be better equipped to fulfill their critical roles in combating the pervasive issue of human trafficking in Nigeria.

The collaboration between FIIAPP, Expertise France, and NAPTIP serves as a commendable example of the concerted efforts being made to address human trafficking and reflects the commitment to utilize resources judiciously while working together to achieve the agency’s goals.
