FIIAPP Trains NACTAL and NAPTIP on Prevention of TIPSOM Victims from Sexual Exploitation

On the 13th to 17th February 2023, the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) under the 11th EDF Project known as the Action Against Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants, in Nigeria A-TIPSOM (funded by European Union) organized a five-day Training of Trainers Workshop to build the capacity of Network of CSOs Against Trafficking, Abuse Labour (NACTAL) members and the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) officers on prevention of TIPSOM victims from Sexual exploitation and other forms of abuse.
The event which took place in Kano State drew participants from Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Taraba, Bauchi, Zamfara, Kano and the FCT aimed to build Crop of competent trainers who will train others across their communities on how to identify, report and manage sexual exploitation and abuse cases.
The Technical Advisor of A-TIPSOM on Protection, Mrs. Nurat Lawal who represented the Project Team Leader, Mr. Federico Milan, said the training is meant to strengthen the capacity of the participants on prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse; as well as promote experience sharing and good practices among participating organizations.
While giving an opening remark, the National President of the NACTAL, Mr. Abdulganiyu Abubakar commended the European Union and FIIAPP for organizing the training. He further enjoined the participants to put to practice the knowledge gained from the workshop.
