As part of the activities of A-TIPSOM Project to strengthen the work of law enforcement agents in combating the incidence of human trafficking, FIIAPP through funding from European Union donated intelligence gathering equipment’s to NAPTIP, NIS and NPF in the Project focal States of Edo, Lagos, Sokoto, Kano and the FCT. The equipment’s which include computer laptops, fingerprints scanners, XRY forensic software, surveillance cameras, video recorders and spy detectors are meant to promote the use of technological equipment’s to enhance identification, investigation and prosecution of TIPSOM Cases in Nigeria.
The items were designed to enhance forensic evidence against traffickers, aid counselling and interview of survivors, promote comprehensive rehabilitation of survivors and improves the communication strategies and networking with partners.
A-TIPSOM is a counter trafficking project funded by the European Union and implemented by FIIAPP. The project has collaborated with law enforcement agents such as NAPTIP, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Immigration Service severally in the fight against human trafficking in Nigeria through capacity building of officers. It has also help in the evacuation of stranded victims of human trafficking in some of the destination Countries.
